CS Remastered is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that aims to bring completely free one-on-one computer science mentoring to the next generation of innovators.
Each year more than 500,000 jobs in computer science go unfilled. Yet only about 35% of all high schools in the US even teach the subject. The ones that do often teach it in a rigid or one-directional approach, prioritizing memorization over understanding. When a subject as complex as computer science is taught in such an inflexible way, students are bound to run into obstacles understanding the material.
CS Remastered was founded with the goal of adopting a different approach to teaching computer science, one that emphasizes understanding the fundamentals along with the algorithmic side of CS, rather than simply memorizing syntax.
All of this is done in a one-on-one manner which ensures a constant student-mentor interaction, and allows students to ask important questions along the way.
